Every year, in a small graveyard in London, a group of floral enthusiasts gather to witness the blooming of a one-of-a-kind flower. Many tests have been run, but it is yet to be determined how or why this unique flower grows where it does. What makes this breed of lily even more unique is the fact that it grows directly on a grave. The lily has been given the name Lilius Severus, or ‘Snape’s Lily’ in honour of the man whose grave it grows on, Severus Snape. Samuel Laurence, the man who discovered this flower, says; “I’ve been coming here for years, yet the impact of the flower’s beauty still amazes me, it’s almost like magic. And this man, Snape, doesn’t seem to be of any significant historical importance, but imagine how he would feel to have his name so well known because of a simple lily”
